Darcy's School of Dance offers all the amenities of a quality studio including large rooms with mirrors, ballet barres, air conditioning & the only true "sprung" floors in the area.
We offer classes in tap, jazz, ballet & pointe and are proud to offer two dance program levels. Our Recreational Program is for the dancer that wishes to dance in a relaxed environment, with the goal being to perform on stage at our Year-End Recital Our Advance Program is for the disciplined, serious dancer that is willing to make a commitment. This is a program that is very structured, and the dancer must be able to accept the critique of the instructor. An Advance Program dancer's goal is to perform on stage at our Year-End Recital, as well as take required examinations.
The studio provides the highest quality of dance education possible while motivating students to appreciate and love the greatest art of all ~ the love of dance!

Arrive on time for rehearsal. Show day arrive ½ hour prior to show time.
Be patient – things do not always go as planned at rehearsal.
Be prepared – bring all of your costumes and accessories. (shoes & tights)
Label, label, label. Label everything your child bring. Things do go missing. If they are labeled we can get them back to you.
We are HOPING pictures will be taken on the night of your rehearsal (come ready in your costume) The photographer will take different poses and costume changes if you would like. If you want a group picture taken, this must be arranged amongst yourselves. We find that it works best when the class is finished rehearsing their LAST number, you then take them all to the photographer together.
You may wish to get your child’s hair done but it is not necessary. We just ask that it be out of their faces. We want to see those beautiful smiles!
Putting a little makeup on your child will prevent them from looking washed out on stage with all of the lights.
Please avoid undergarments with your child’s tights. (tights have a gusset)
Have proper DANCE tights and not nylons. Let us know if you are unsure of which kind to get.
Make sure to clean all dance shoes that are being used in the recital.
Your child must have the proper shoes.
Ballet Shoes are PINK
Tap Shoes are BLACK
Jazz Shoes are BLACK (if needed)
Be prepared – bring all of your costumes and accessories – labeled.
Come dressed in your first costume on recital day (we will let you know this the night of your rehearsal)
Be sure your child has absolutely NO GUM. It looks terrible on stage!!!
If you leave your child with a snack we ask that is it colourless & spill proof
All children will stay back stage during intermission. If you would like to see them please ask at the door and we will get them for you. We ask that you DO NOT take your child. It makes it difficult for us to keep track of your children.
You have no need to worry if your child needs anything. We have volunteers who will make sure they use the washroom, etc. If they need you for some reason, we will page you.
Flowers will be for sale at the recital.
Please pick-up your child on the stage after Grand Finale (little ones only)
If you have any questions at rehearsal please ask Miss Michelle H. Do not ask Darcy - she is busy running rehearsal
Doors will open 1/2 hour before the show.
Remember to enjoy yourself. Do not get stressed out – have fun!!!
